Zoe & Nick, Barcelona Wedding Photography Reportage in Barrio Gotico, Hotel Neri, L’Antiquari Barn& Palau Raquesens
One of my favorite and special Barcelona Wedding Photography reportage of 2015, the wedding of Zoe & Nick.
As a Barcelona Wedding Photographer with the photojournalistic style, I’m always super excited when I have a chance to document a destination family wedding. This kind of wedding is always full of pure emotions and rare moments. Capturing them makes the photographs timeless and magical, bringing back precious memories every time my couples look at their wedding albums.
You might be curious “how did they found the best wedding photographer in Barcelona” ;)? I already knew the bride way before the wedding day. Zoe is a member of the Barcelona Photography Group (BPP Photography Group), which I´m the organizer and founder. She attended to many of my workshops and photo walks. Now she became a photographer herself…very talented one, by the way.
Zoe & Nick, they knew me from before and they knew, that I don’t do typical Barcelona Wedding Photography. There are so many things I loved about this gorgeous Barcelona wedding. Apart from having to photograph such a great couple, who trusted “my cameras” and gave me total creative freedom, I had a chance to photograph in one of my favorite locations in Barcelona – Gothic Quarter. I know what you might think, it’s so touristic but there is a special charm in this barrio. Maybe it’s architecture, maybe winning streets creating quite a labyrinth or a number of peaceful squares. Probably all of those. This neighborhood has countless hidden venues which are just perfect for organizing an original Barcelona Wedding.
Zoe & Nick have found one of this hidden gems and decide to organize their’s Barcelona Wedding in Palau Raquesens in Gotic Quarter (www.palaurequesens.cat ). They have planned entire wedding day in the way, that all the locations where we were shooting were walking distance from the venue. It was very comfortable for all the guests…and off course for their wedding photographers 🙂
I’ve started documenting the day from meeting Zoe in Hotel Neri. The bride and her maids have hung the “No Molesten” sign on the door, opened a bottle of cava and simply have had a great time:) . While Zoe and her team were preparing themselves for the wedding ceremony, Nick with his groomsmen and the rest of the wedding guests were haveing a “warm up :)“ in the local bar. This part was documented by my friend and second photographer Danny. After bride’s preparation, we walk through the beautiful street of Gothic Neighbourhood, off course, without stopping our photo shoot. I love street photography and if I only have a chance to add a touch of it to my wedding reportage Barcelona, I sure do it:).
When we arrived at the Palau Raquesens Nick and all the guests were already waiting for the bride to arrive.
The ceremony was held in the gorgeous patio of the Palau Raquesens and was both very beautiful and emotional. It was a privilege be there to document such an important moment for this great couple. After the “big moment”, we “kidnapped” Zoe & Nick for 5 min to do the express portrait wedding photo shoot.
We’ve returned the husband and wife right for the dinner party. This part of the wedding day has hold traditional family and guest speeches. As a documentary Barcelona wedding photographer, I love this part of the wedding day. Those speeches are always both funny and emotional so I have many opportunities to catch true emotions; tears of joy mixed with peals of laughter.
We have stayed with Zoe & Nick until late night hours throughout all the wedding party. To add even more fun to already crazy “fiesta” we have organized a photo booth with many funny props. The effect – hilariously collection of portraits of each guest – priceless reminder of this wonderful day.
One more time, THANK YOU, Zoe & Nick, for having us as your Barcelona Wedding Photographers.
We wish you many, many years together filled with love, health and happiness.
